Corporate Bank Account Application Support in Turkey

Corporate banking is separate from company registration, and the bank independently controls KYC, approval, account opening, activation and e-banking access. Workon supports foreign-owned companies by preparing the application file, organizing the required company information and coordinating the application workflow within an available banking route.

What Workon Supports

  • reviewing company, shareholder and signatory information;
  • organizing corporate documents and KYC information requested by the bank;
  • coordinating signatory, notarization and Power of Attorney steps where relevant;
  • preparing the application file before submission;
  • coordinating the bank appointment or a supported remote application route where available;
  • tracking additional-document requests and practical next steps within the agreed scope.

Bank KYC Goes Beyond Company Registration Documents

Depending on the bank, company and risk profile, KYC may include ultimate beneficial owners, ownership structure, source of funds or wealth, business activity, expected transaction volumes and currencies, countries of payment, customers, suppliers, counterparties and parent-company information. The exact request is controlled by the bank and can change during review.

Individual vs Foreign Corporate Shareholders

A company owned by an individual and a Turkish subsidiary owned by an overseas company can follow different KYC paths. Corporate-shareholder cases may require additional parent-company registry evidence, ownership information, signatory records, financial information and commercial-background documents.

Does the Director Need to Be in Turkey?

Physical presence may be required for standard corporate banking, depending on the bank and case. Some eligible cases may have access to a special remote coordination route through a bank Workon works with, but availability remains case-specific and subject to the bank’s own criteria, KYC review and approval.

Remote company incorporation should not be interpreted as guaranteed remote banking.

Account Opening and E-Banking Activation Are Different Milestones

A bank may open an account before every digital-banking feature is active. Online-banking credentials, user permissions, transaction limits, mobile access, cards and other products can follow separate activation steps.

Typical Application Documents

  • Trade Registry and company-establishment documents;
  • tax identification information;
  • authorized-signatory information and signature circular where applicable;
  • passport and identification documents for relevant individuals;
  • Power of Attorney where a valid representation route is used;
  • UBO and ownership information;
  • business-purpose and expected-activity information;
  • additional KYC evidence requested by the bank.

Documents issued abroad may need translation, notarization, apostille or consular legalization depending on the document and the bank’s requirements.

How Long Does the Bank Process Take?

There is no reliable universal approval timeline. Timing depends on the bank, shareholder structure, nationality and residency profile, sector, KYC complexity, completeness of the file and additional-document requests.

Before Applying

A strong application file should accurately explain the company’s ownership, business model, expected transactions and commercial purpose. Missing or inconsistent information can slow the process. Workon can organize the file but cannot override the bank’s compliance or risk decision.

For the informational process guide, see How to Open a Business Bank Account in Turkey. For company setup, use Company Registration in Turkey.

Contact Workon with the company structure, signatory profile and intended banking use so the application route can be assessed.

This depends on factors like where you’ll receive payments from, which currencies you’ll use, and whether you need local or international features. Once we understand your profile, we help you prepare an appropriate application — without recommending a specific bank.

Some banks request a minimum balance or deposit during activation. These funds are generally not blocked and can be used freely. There are typically no official taxes on account opening itself.

Bank account openings in Turkey are reviewed by each bank’s internal compliance and risk departments, which operate independently. No consultant, lawyer, or service provider can influence these decisions. What we do is help you submit a strong, complete, and clear application — to increase your chances, not to guarantee success.

Only in administrative matters and only if you have given us a valid Power of Attorney. Even then, banks often require direct communication with the business owner. We support the process, but do not act as agents or intermediaries.
